Based on the problematic associated with the practical application of theoretical frameworks that link urban form, environment, and safety, the general objective of this research is to identify methodological options for assessing safe landscapes. With an exploratory nature and a mixed qualitative-quantitative structure, the main procedures adopted included a bibliometric survey of reference articles through searches in an international journal repository, followed by a systematic review. In response to the investigative question regarding what those alternatives are, the results are organized into reference metrics (geographic-locational scope, scientific-editorial context, and semantic-authorial perspective), analytical variables (categories of vitality, visibility, and connectivity), and methodological approaches (character and relationships). The study confirms the guiding hypothesis that it is possible to establish levels of safety in public spaces through the objective analysis of specific morphological and landscape parameters, whether present or absent in the location, evaluated by intrinsic criteria aimed at supporting integrated urban management and, ultimately, shaping safe urban landscapes.
