Statement of Ethics and Best Practices

This statement establishes the ethical principles and best practices adopted by Revista ReGeo throughout the submission, review, and publication process of scientific works.

Revista ReGeo follows the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (http://publicationethics.org/), reaffirming its commitment to academic integrity and excellence in scientific publishing. Throughout the review process, the principles of impartiality, confidentiality, and the absence of conflicts of interest are ensured.

Responsibilities of Revista ReGeo

Revista ReGeo is responsible for applying and enforcing this Statement of Ethics and Best Practices in relation to all published works. Its main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring academic freedom of expression;

  • Being available to authors, readers, and reviewers in case of questions or needs;

  • Ensuring that all manuscripts are evaluated impartially, based solely on scientific merit;

  • Maintaining the quality of published content;

  • Publishing errata, retractions, or corrections whenever necessary;

  • Conducting peer review under a double-blind review system;

  • Submitting all manuscripts to plagiarism detection tools;

  • Using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, ensuring the security and confidentiality of all stages of the editorial process.

Responsibilities of Editors

The editors of Revista ReGeo are responsible for ensuring that all manuscripts are evaluated according to uniform criteria, without discrimination of any kind, and based exclusively on scientific quality and merit. Editors must also:

  • Take appropriate measures in cases of allegations or suspicions of ethical misconduct;

  • Investigate and address all complaints with seriousness, confidentiality, and transparency;

  • Ensure that editorial decisions comply with the journal’s policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Before initiating the review process, reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Contribute to the quality of the evaluated content;

  • Comply with the evaluation criteria and forms provided by the journal;

  • Suggest improvements to enhance the manuscript;

  • Inform the editors of any suspected plagiarism or similarity to previously published works.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to Revista ReGeo must:

  • Be aware of and agree with the journal’s guidelines available in the About and Submissions sections;

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest;

  • Confirm their agreement with the submission conditions at the time of manuscript submission;

  • Assume full responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of the information provided;

  • Promptly inform the editors if any errors are identified in their work, contributing, when necessary, to the publication of errata.
