THE INTEGRATION OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CLASSROOM: IMPACTS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING RELATIONSHIPS

The article seeks to understand how advances in Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) influence teaching and learning relationships in Brazilian education and contemporary society. Through bibliographic research in academic articles, it discusses how technological advances and internet access have impacted changes in education. The current generation of students is surrounded by technology, but when they enter the classroom, they are faced with a traditional teaching model. However, the foundational structures of education in Brazil need to be rethought, considering the constant presence of DICTs in students' lives. This requires a redefinition of pedagogical practices, making teaching meaningful, engaging, accessible, and collaborative. The use of DICTs in the classroom presents challenges, but also opportunities to make teaching dynamic, interactive, and contextualized. Nevertheless, we highlight the importance of active methodologies and technological integration in promoting quality education, marked by the challenges of the 21st century.
